Atrium started operations as a partnership in 1976 and has been headquartered at its current Centrepoint location since 1986.

In 1992 that Atrium became one of the UK dealers distributing the luminaires produced by Modular NV, a long established Belgian lighting manufacturer of European prominence.

Over the years which ensued, Atrium grew into the foremost UK dealer of Modular lighting equipment, an achievement which led to the next set of developments: first a new status in becoming Modular NV's sole UK
distributor shortly followed by the creation of Modular (UK) Ltd., a new technical and marketing structure within the Atrium Group and a very close strategic partner to Modular NV in Belgium.

Since its incorporation, Modular (UK) has also become the sole UK distributor for LTS of Germany and Ilti Luce of Italy. In addition, Modular (UK) is also main dealer for a number of other leading lighting brands.

Atrium Ltd is bringing its own name back to the limelight. The return to Atrium Ltd as our trading name follows the addition of Flos to our other successful brands: Modular, LTS and Ilti Luce. This exciting development will start in earnest from January 4th 2011 when Atrium Ltd will become the exclusive distributor of Flos Decorative and Flos Architectural (formerly Antares) products.
